Founding Partner / Principal Advisor

Before receiving his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M, Jim grew up with his family in a variety of places around the world. Since settling in St. Louis to earn a Masters in Business Administration from Washington University in 1981, he has made Kirkwood his home. In 1985, Jim co-founded a financial planning firm, which today is known as Trinity Wealth Advisors.

Jim is a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA). From 1983 to 1988 he served on the Board of Directors and chaired several committees for its predecessor association, the IAFP. He has served on four different Senior Advisor Boards including Royal Alliance, one of the largest independent Broker/Dealers of financial securities in the United States.

Jim was responsible for the organization and establishment of the St. Louis Chapter of the CPA/Law Forum. He enjoys speaking to professional organizations and investment clubs and, from 1992 through 1996; Jim hosted a popular weekly radio program, "More Money with Matush."

Jim is a member of the Kirkwood Chamber of Commerce, the Kirkwood Rotary Club, Washington University Alumni Association and is an active member of Cornerstone Church. After the death of their son Jamie at the age of 15 in a rock climbing accident in 2000, with Jim just inches beyond reach, Jim, his wife Debbie, and their daughter Lindsay were given the vision of a youth center in his memory. Their inspiration led to a non-profit that merged with the "Bridge" and expanded into a new $6 million facility, April of 2006 in Joplin, MO where Lindsay is now the Marketing Director. In 2005 Jim became a member of the Legacy Network and joined TUGX (The Ultimate Gift Experience www.theultimategift.com)) in 2006 as one of only 75 Ambassadors in the Nation. Since 1981, Jim has played an integral role in helping individuals and families gain greater clarity regarding their long term goals and thereby more effective decisions that support their vision.
